LIVE WITHIN THE TREES NOT WITHOUT TREES!

To Squamish Council
I saw the destruction of a tree today, one that had befriended me and my birds for decades.
What is needed is for Squamish Council to get a grip on the valuable trees that have served here for decades.
A great place is framed by great trees.
When I attend a meeting and ask a developer how his development will affect the property I live on that is neighbour to his…  I don’t expect to have this propertys’ 30 year old cherry tree and entire front landscaping torn up by the roots for his development to have underground wiring!
Today another great tree friend of mine was sliced to pieces before my eyes and loaded into a dump truck.
There was a committee formed to protect trees and disbanded by a previous Squamish Council.  It was said then that the protection of the trees would become part of the development application process.
RUBBISH
This is Rubbish, not Trees!
Trees are not Rubbish!
Sincerely
Deb McBride

Subject: Important Bird Area

I only just discovered that Squamish is within a BC Important Bird Area. I"m attaching the link and a pdf of this info. I don’t know how many people are aware of this but I think it would be well worth while to make this fact more public.

Cheers
